Quote passage from Shoden: Reiki First Degree Manual, Taggart King, Pinchbook Press, 2009
A practice brought forward to help us all heal ourselves. Usui Sensei studied many different systems of philosophies, was a practicing Tendai Buddhist, a respected Samurai, devoted to inner peace and aiding humanity on his way. He is a man far more diverse and complex than depicted in many short versions of the history of Reiki.
Usui Reiki is a Japanese healing modality that is passed down from lineage to lineage as an oral teaching with each level receiving a certificate of completion. There are three levels, Shoden (level l), Okuden (level ll) & Shinpiden (master).
Reiki penetrates the psyche and the DNA to allow a deep integration and release of patterns that have been formed over time. It breaks down blocks and allows energy to flow optimally throughout the body helping elevate energy and eleviate pain. Think of a clogged artery getting washed clean. Reiki also allows the client to enter a deep state of meditation and access new levels of understanding and knowledge in regards to themselves, their lives and in times, those around them. This meditative state is also what allows such deep relaxation to take palce durring the duration of the treatment and even after.
Reiki can be performed with or without physical touch and can be accessed at any time and any location. Throughout the treatment the client may experience different sensations such as: tingling, warmth, cold, visuals of colours or images, physical release such as twitches, tummy gurgles or an out of body experience. Every session and person is different and there is always a possibility for a new experience each time you lie down on the table for a session.
Reiki is free of religious orientation and works well along side quantum physics. Everything is energy and energy is always moving, it also works with cause and effect when it comes to physical manifestation of pains or joys.
Because Reiki is an oral tradition, there will be some similarities between all sessions and some different aspects as well. There are specific hand placements to follow and specific ways to clear the aura/quantum field/energy field of each person. There are also, a number of different techniques that get passed down from Reiki Master Teacher to their students that they have found through their own understanding and learning, lineage and ancestral knowledge. One of the lessons is based on time and how to access time beyond our physical limits we perceive to exist.
What is most important in any session is that you feel safe and that the Reiki practitioner allows you the time and space needed to ground after session before sending you on your way.
Each practitioner is different. One of the reasons being that, all of us as humans interact with energy differently and have different senses (clairsentience, clairvoyance, claircognizance, clairaudience, clairalience, clairgustance) that communicate with nonphysical materials & physical materials, no two may be the same. Your energetic body and your Aura share information with the Reiki practitioner throughout the session, it is in this information the practitioner will be able to provide feedback after the session. Some of the feedback can be related to physical health, emotional health, family healing, personal growth, meditation practices, mantra practices, journalling, or nothing and more. Reiki is a piece of a beautiful puzzle and once you get curious and are open to receiving, that is where some of the deepest healings will occur. If we are unwilling to witness that which is in our control to change and that which is not, some of our ailments will continuously reappear.
